On this site we needed a way to display where concerts have been played, both as pins on a map and as a list. This is done using Google Maps and a bit of Drupal Magic. This also enables Ivar (the Client) to update the concerts, and provided that a location is added the new concerts will show on the main map.
The media overview on this site is planned to be a powerful one as we need to be able to insert small pieces of audio and video directly into the text, present larger video files that will serve as the main visual and audible content and, to avoid uploading more files than necessary, the videos and audio needs to have chapters or markers that function as reference points both from the text and from the player itself.
When it comes to presenting large amounts of text, it's always difficult when scrolling comes into play. Scrolling is also inevitable, and will happen sooner or later. But to limit this, we've chosen to show the chapters as horizontal tabs, which means that they will display next to each other, rather than presenting yet another vertical menu in the sidebar.
